When Pat was very small, maybe 3 or 4 years old. He would come with his parents to Grandma Apple's home.
One day he came in and someone noticed his cowboy boots, that he always wore at that time, were on the wrong feet. When it was mentioned, he piped up and said "But these are the only feet I have".
When he was a little older and had just learned to read, he would stand by the waste basket that Grandma had by the stove, and turn around and around reading the newspaper that she had put under it to protect the floor. She, at that time was dressing chickens for sale and it was messy.
He was such a bright little boy! When you would go driving with them, he knew the names of all the cars and would tell you what they were as you drove by them. He knew more of them than I did, for sure.
Then there was the "Sunny, Funny Bunny book that he always wanted someone to read to him. We were all so tired of it, we would pass it on to the next person to read to him. I expect his sister, Debbie, may remember the book! I was 10 years his senior and would baby-sit for him sometimes too! Sure miss him, even though he was a ways from Denver, looked forward to the occasional email.
