A. DeWayne Catron,79, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 in Montgomery, Texas. Born May 20, 1939 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Waymon & Kay Catron. Mr. Catron proudly and valiantly served in the U.S. Navy as a submariner.
DeWayne loved to travel and spend time with his grandkids. He made it a point to take his family on cruises each summer. He loved telling stories about his life and travels.
DeWayne graduated from the University of Houston with a bachelors in Nuclear Physics. He loved UH and all Houston teams.
DeWayne met his wife of 58 years at a high school dance, they were high school sweethearts. They traveled the world with the Navy & for his Nuclear Power school, as well as many personal travels. They had 2 sons together, DeWayne & Douglas.
DeWayne worked at Dresser Turbines for many years as well as Solar Turbines for 20 years.
DeWayne is preceded in death by his parents, Waymon Catron & Kay Evans, as well as his brother Jack. He leaves behind his wife Virginia, son DeWayne & wife Michelle, son Douglas & wife Shelly; their 6 grandchildren as well as numerous nephews, niece, cousins and friends.
A chapel service is planned for Monday, October 15, 2018 @11:00 am at Woodlawn Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at the Woodlawn Cemetery.
