Patrick Richard Campbell, 69, passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2016 in Houston. A visitation is planned for Saturday, October 15, 2016 from one o’clock until two o’clock in the afternoon at the Woodlawn Funeral Home Chapel. The funeral service will follow promptly at two o’clock.
Born June 21, 1947 in Denver, Colorado to parents Delbert and Dorothy Campbell, Patrick was known as a caring and loving husband and father.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Delbert and Dorothy, and leaves behind his loving wife of 47 years, Dawn Campbell; one daughter, Susan Campbell and husband John Barr; and a son, John Campbell; his sister, Debra Redmond and husband Charles; four nephews, Ed, Jim, Bob, and Dan Redmond. In addition, Patrick leaves behind a host of colleagues, friends and extended family.
Patrick loved music and played the baritone and trumpet for the famous “MOB” marching band at Rice University, where he met his wife to be, Dawn. He was a National Merit Scholar. He was a member of the Rice University Global Forum of Engineering and Construction. Patrick served proudly in the US Army in Viet Nam; receiving a Silver Star for valor in combat; and he was a member of the First Calvary Division Association. He was a former Boy Scout Leader and mentored students in Spring Branch schools.
Patrick Richard Campbell will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
