Lorine Pampell passed away peacefully at the age of 93 on August 1, 2018 in Pearland, Texas. She was born on December 4, 1924 in Loebau, Texas to her parents Adolph and Emma Rackel. She attended grade school in Loebau and was confirmed at Christ Lutheran Church on April 18, 1938. She married Alvin Pampell of Dime Box, Texas on August 18, 1946 after Alvin returned from service in World War II. Alvin and Lorine relocated to Houston, Texas where they had a drywall business. God blessed them with 43 years of marriage and three children – Alvin Jr, Sandra Faye and Rodney Wayne.
Lorine was a devoted mother to her three children and was the bookkeeper for her husband’s drywall and home building businesses. She would speak fondly of going “down to the country” to visit family that still lived in the Dime Box and Loebau area. Lorine loved playing dominoes, gardening and cooking for her family. Her laugh was always easy to identify even in a crowd of people and she had a distinct amount of mischief and sparkle in her eyes. She had a firm foundation in her Christian faith and was a member of Epiphany Lutheran Church in Pearland. She enjoyed volunteering at church and for Christian Helping Hands in Pearland.
Lorine is preceded in death by her husband Alvin and son Alvin Jr, her parents Adolph and Emma Rackel, her grandparents Ernst and Hedwig Iselt and August and Magdalina Rackel, her brothers Charlie, Martin, Waldemar, Erich, and Erhart, and her sister Gertrude.
Lorine is survived by her son Rodney and daughter-in-law Sharon, her daughter Sandra Faye, five granddaughters – Lori Clark and husband Jeff, Alyssa Manis and husband Glen, Shelley Miller and husband Nick, Sherry Llanas and husband Pablo, and Sheila Spacek, and three great grandchildren – Natalie Manis, Rhett Llanas and Gavin Llanas.
Visitation will be Saturday, August 4, 2018 from 2 PM – 6 PM at the Woodlawn Funeral Home Chapel, 1101 Antoine Drive in Houston, Texas.
