Obituary for Patricia Wade (Reiland) Willis

Patricia Wade (Reiland) Willis
Patricia Wade (Reiland) Willis entered into the kingdom everlasting on Sunday, January 8 2017.
Born in 1948 to Lloyd Thomas Wade and Billie Ruth Urban Wade, in Houston, Texas, she was preceded in death by her parents and by her grandson Eric Matthew Reiland, U. S. Navy.
She is survived by her husband Daniel Willis; son, Matthew W. Reiland and Cheryl House; and daughter, Melissa Reiland Shearer and Todd; grandchildren John Richard Hammond V and Sara Hammond, bonus grandkids Kaitlyn Shearer and Nathaniel Shearer; sisters Jan and Jeff Layfield; sister Beth Arnette Wade; niece Jessalyn Layfield Dwyer and Kevin; aunts Elizabeth (Mrs. Sam) and Dorothy (Mrs. Kenneth) Urban, aunt Norma Eulene Wade Cunningham and uncle Donald Cunningham; aunts Wanda Wade Stovall and Stella Barton Wade; many loving cousins; and a multitude of devoted friends, from childhood until her final days.
Upon graduation from Spring Woods High School in Houston, Texas, she worked for Gulf Oil and First City National Bank of Houston, followed by a 34 year professional career in the field of health care insurance, beginning with John Hancock Mutual Insurance and ending with Memorial Hermann Health Partners, where her co-workers came through for her in this time of need.
Patricia, known to many as Trisha, Pat, Mom, and Granny, was a proud native Houstonian and Texan, and showed her heritage off in a grand way. She was a dedicated fan of her hometown Houston sports teams. Her love of auto racing began as a child when she presented a trophy to her late uncle Billy Wade in a predecessor organization to NASCAR and continued throughout her life as she enjoyed attending the races with her beloved husband Dan. She loved travelling with Dan, especially RVing to numerous beaches and other destinations. Her love for the beach transcended the summer beach season; she was well known to all decked out in her summer attire and her flip flops throughout the year.
Her larger than life personality attracted many people from many different walks of life. Pat treasured every one of her lasting friendships and made a positive impact on everyone she met. A mother of two, she raised Matt and Melissa in Houston and became Mom to many of their friends. Then later as she was known as Granny to her grandkids, John, Sara, Kaitlyn and Nate, whom she loved very much. She was devoted to her grandchildren who in turn loved her wholeheartedly. From trips to Disney World, a taxi driver to church, a personal banker, and teacher of board games, she was a large influence in their lives. In a final act of generosity, she was able to save and help 50 people as an organ donor.
A CELEBRATION OF LIFE for Pat Wade Reiland Willis will be held on Saturday, Jan 14th from 2-5 pm at La Hacienda 12503 Telge Rd, Cypress, TX 77429. Please join us to celebrate, share memories, and give a toast to Pat. Requested attire is casual with flip flops to honor Pat/Mom.
