Maryann English, 78, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, December 27, 2016. She will be missed by everyone who knew her. A longtime resident of Houston, Texas, Maryann Lucille White was born on November 7, 1938 in Utica, Illinois to the late Ruth and Frank White. She was the youngest and last living of two sisters, and four brothers; JoAnn, Gerry, Frank, Bill, Paul and David. Maryann grew up in Chattanooga TN where she was a twirler for Central High School. Maryann enjoyed life, making the best of whatever came her way. She loved and admired her parents, adored her brothers and sisters and cherished her kids and theirs. Maryann worked for everything she had, asking for nothing but the opportunity to prove she could do the job. A dedicated employee who rarely missed work, she was a longtime nurse for Dr. Bing, followed by decades at Electro-Chem, Ayers Paint & Body, and finally Horizontal Technology until her health finally slowed her down at age 77. She was a wonderful, loved mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Maryann is survived by her three children, John English and his wife Donna, daughter Gina Wheat and her husband Ray and youngest son Rick Buquo. Grandkids and great grandkids; Shawnda Lancaster and her husband Roger Lancaster and their sons Jake & Trent Lancaster, Kristi Zwahr and her husband Travis Zwahr and their children Kelsie & Zaden Zwahr, Stacey King and her husband Mike King and daughter Ashlyn Frost, Sterling Buquo and his wife Mary, Julia Abboud and husband Raji Abboud and their children Colette & Oliver Abboud. Services will be held on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 1101 Antoine Drive, Houston TX, 77055, with visitation starting at 11:00 am, and the funeral to follow 1:00 pm. Interment at Woodlawn Garden of Memories.
