Obituary for Virginia Lancaster

Virginia Lancaster
Virginia Ruth Lancaster, 89, passed away Thursday, August 4, 2016 in Conroe, Texas. Visitation is planned from 10-11 AM Sunday, August 7, 2016 at the Woodlawn Funeral Home Chapel. The funeral service will follow promptly at 11 AM also at the Woodlawn Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Gene Vickery will officiate.
Born May 19, 1927 in Houston, Texas to parents, Rudolph and Ruth Spitzenberger, Mrs. Lancaster will be fondly remembered as a loving and caring mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Virginia is preceded in death by her parents, Rudolph and Ruth, and leaves behind: one daughter, Karen Henneke (Buck); one son, Kim Lancaster (Cheryl); one brother, Rudy Spitzenberger (Virginia); three grandchildren, Aubrie Dean (John), Corey Allen and Cole Lancaster; five great-grandchildren, Connor McElroy, Carson McElroy, Collin Jones, Carter Jones and Matthew Lancaster; plus a host of loving, extended family members.
Known lovingly as “Gagee”, Virginia was a longtime member of the Fair Haven Methodist Church and Altar Guild and the Houston Junior League. She had a passion for her weekly bridge game and was an avid supporter of her beloved Houston Astros. Mrs. Lancaster loved the holidays and was well known for her eggnog “with the hooch.” Virginia also received great reviews for her ability as a master seamstress. But, her greatest passion was her love of family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Virginia Ruth Lancaster will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all who knew her.
