Robert Joseph Krus was born to Kaiser and Laura Krus on November 20, 1930 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Houston Texas.
Robert, better known as Bob to his friends and family, grew up in the Heights area, graduating from Reagan High School in 1949. He joined the United States Air Force during the Korean War and attained the rank of Supply Sergeant based in Victoria, Texas.
In April 1953 Bob married his childhood sweetheart, Betty Rogers. Their 63 years together was filled with love for each other and family.
He loved the hardware business and owned Krus Hardware on Berry Rd for 40 years. He retired and for the love of the hardware business he went to work for Sears Hardware and had been there for the last 17 years.
Bob was a good Christian man, loving husband and devoted father. He loved his family dearly. They were the light of his life. He is survived by his loving wife Betty; children, Karey and husband Rick, son Kevin and wife Sheila; grandchildren, April, Austin, Robert, Kaleb, and Kaley; four great-grandchildren, Landon, Ellie, Eli, and Charlie; his brother Clint and wife Diane, and many loving extended family members.
