Obituary for Dianne Ledet

Dianne Diffey Ledet, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and adored friend died Friday, October 19, 2018, after a tough battle with vascular disease. She was born April 17, 1951 in Houston, Texas to Delmar Thomas Diffey and Ruth Hollar Rickaway. Dianne attended all 12 grades of school in Houston and was a proud graduate of the 1969 class at Waltrip High School. She went on to attend the University of Houston and spent most of her working career at Texas Bus Sales. She was a Lifetime Member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo and Lifetime Committeeman of the Sheep and Goat Committee. Following in her mother’s footsteps, Dianne loved her Texas roots and discovering more and more of her family’s history. As the result of her research and patriotism, she proudly joined the Daughters of the American Revolution and Daughters of the Republic of Texas. Dianne was also an active participant in the Marine Mom’s organization. Known as “Aunt Dianne” to many, you could always count on her for a delicious home cooked meal, a listening ear, or a dancing good time. She also loved any sporting event, fishing adventure or concert...especially when in attendance with her loved ones. One of her biggest joys was watching her son Matthew and nephews play football … James and Eric and Adam. But more than anything, she loved her family and dear friends. She is survived by her husband, Dale Ledet's, children, whom she loved dearly; Lauren (Jason) Hughes of Conroe, Michael Ledet of Houston and Matthew Dale Ledet of Crystal Beach, Texas. She is also survived by the absolute loves of her life – her beautiful granddaughters, Jessica Hughes of Wellington, Florida and Taylor Ann Ledet and Victoria Lee (LuLu) Hughes of Conroe. Also surviving Dianne is her brother Darryl and sister-in-law Laurie Rickaway, niece Laura Elizabeth Rickaway and nephew James Clark Rickaway. Aunt Lou and Uncle Sam Murphy; cousins Gary Hollar, Lorie Hollar, Debbie Caldwell, Wayne Hollar, Marsha Strickland, Mike Patterson, Mark Murphy, Marilyn Rigler, Don Hollar and many loving cousins, Ledet nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother Ruth Hollar Rickaway, sister Tommie Ruth Diffey, and husband Dale Anthony Ledet. The Astros have gained another angel in the outfield.
