Obituary for Joan Emily "Joni" Hanagriff Cook

Joan Emily (Hanagriff) Cook, affectionately known as “Joni” entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 in Katy, Texas at the age of 87. She was born on February 12, 1931 to James Hanagriff and Josephine Kaupp Hanagriff in New Orleans, Louisiana. Joni loved The Houston Texans, reading, animals and sharing her charitable spirit with others.

Joni is reunited with her parents; son, Billy Nunnellee and daughter, Jan Nunnellee. She leaves to continue her legacy of life and love, three sons, Jerry Cook and wife Laura, Brady Cook and Don Hart and wife Betty; two sisters, Betty Blair and Robin Ford; six grandchildren, Caitlyn , Sean, Colin, Elizabeth and husband Stephen, Thomas and wife Hanna and Rebecca and husband Jason; six great-grandchildren and other relatives and dear friends left to cherish fond memories of Joni. Joni’s life will be celebrated during a graveside service at Woodlawn Garden of Memories on Saturday, August 4, 2018 at 10:00am with Deacon Dan O’Dowd of St. Jerome’s Catholic Church officiating.

In lieu of customary remembrances, memorial donations may be made to the Richmond State School (San Antonio Unit) in memory of Joan H. Cook for the benefit of Brady Lawrence Cook.
