Obituary for Adela V. Holender

Adela V. Holender
Adela Villareal Holender, 96, of Houston, Texas, entered into her eternal life with our Lord on Sunday morning, July 22, 2018. She was born in Buda, Texas to Ignacio Villareal Jr. and Andrea Cardenas Villareal on December 25, 1921. She is preceded in death by her ex-husband Lad Holender and brothers Jesse and David Villareal. She is survived by her brother Rudy Villareal, children Bobby, Donny (and wife Lynn), Glen (and wife Jan), and Sandy Willmann (and husband Karl Willmann), and grandchildren Delaney Kim (and husband Ryan Kim), Darcey Holender, and Isabella Willmann.
Prior to becoming a devoted wife and mother, Adela was the president of Ladies LULAC Council No. 22 in Houston, from 1956 to 1958. The League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) is the oldest and most widely respected Hispanic civil rights organization in the U.S. Adela, a beautiful soul and outstanding mother, tirelessly dedicated her life to raising her four children until they left home. Then, she became a Communication Manager at Sam Houston Hospital in Houston, working at the reception desk and brightening everyone’s day with her beautiful smile, positive attitude, and friendly demeanor. After retirement at age 70, Adela enjoyed hobbies such as cooking, gardening, playing cards and games with family and friends, and she loved watching the Rockets and the Astros. She was a very special friend to so many. To Adela, family was everything. Most of all, she relished spending time with her children and grandchildren, and in so doing their lives were immeasurably enriched. She always was and always will be deeply loved by her children and grandchildren and she will be incredibly missed.
