Obituary for Diana Jo Jimenez

Diana Jo Jimenez, 74, passed away Wednesday, March 21, 2018 in Sugar Land, Texas. “Dee”, as she was known to many was born on June 1, 1943 in Arnaudville, Louisiana to Bradley and Lena Hollier. She was the oldest of six children. Dee married Jose R Jimenez on February 17, 1962 and moved to Houston, Texas in 1963 where she resided until her passing. She loved her Cajun roots and embraced the Cuban culture she inherited when she married Jose. Dee taught herself to speak Spanish, cook typical Cuban meals, and joined the Cuban community where she was loved by many. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Dee enjoyed being surrounded by her loved ones. Her culinary skills were unmatched and her love for others unlimited; you could always get a hot meal and a hug at Dee’s house. She was strong in her Catholic faith regularly attending services at St. Vincent de Paul Church and always kept a votive candle lit to support those she prayed for especially during final exams.
She will be sorely missed, but never forgotten. To have known Dee was to have known an angel. Spread your wings Dee and keep watch over us until we see you again.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Jose, her son Ray, her son Omar and his wife Rachel, granddaughters Alyssa Thurman, Marissa Jimenez, Sophia Jimenez, great grandchildren Ella and Jamie Ray, her sister Karen Touchette and husband Michael, her brother Brad Hollier and his wife Cynthia, her brother Chris Hollier and his wife Doreen, her sister Nancy Granger and husband Dr. Glynn Granger, her sister Mona Conrad and her husband Dr. Steve Conrad.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Charles Conlon, his staff and the nurses at Sugar Land Methodist Hospital for caring for Dee. A special thanks to Karen and Michael Touchette for their unwavering support during her most difficult times.
Services will be held at Woodlawn Funeral Home in Houston, Texas. For details please go to www.woodlawnfh.com. In lieu of flowers please send donations to Sugar Land Methodist Hospital at 16655 Southwest Freeway, Sugar Land, Texas 77479 or Methodist Cancer Center, 16675 Southwest Freeway, Sugar Land, Texas 77479.
