Obituary for Camilla Ann Wooten

Camilla Wooten (Cam) passed away, suddenly, on Friday, January 19th at 5 pm at a hospital in Cypress, Texas. She was born in Orange Texas, on Friday, April 21, 1950 also at 5 pm, which she always pointed out with pride, was payday.
Camilla's interests were humor, HUGS, family, friends and a love for all animals, all music and plants.
Although born in Texas, the family moved for her father's employment and she attended 7 different elementary schools in 5 states, graduating from Deer Park High School in Deer Park, Texas in 1968 with great pride at being named wittiest. She attended U of H, HCC and San Jacinto colleges. During high school, she was lead trumpet/coronet player in the band. In the senior play, she made her own unique mark portraying a maid; immortalized in the centerfold of the annual. She was a tenor in the choir at St. John Vianney Catholic church for more than a year.
Camilla never met a stranger and greeted everyone with her famous never-ending bear-hugs, huge smile and home-spun greetings. She was renowned for her contagious laugh, stories, jokes and innocent pranks, including: petrified fish in the typewriters, band balloons, portraying Aunt Jemima, a memorial and séance birthday party, attending a luau dressed as the entree pig on the platter and infinitely more. No one ever knew what would come out of her mouth next.
She adored all animals, yet, somehow, she never got the pony saddle she asked for. She was proud be part of S.A.V.E. Rescue Coalition as a foster; although she had a very hard time giving up each pup to their new loving homes. Her first dog, Betty, a Collie, saved her from a mamma pig for which Camilla never forgave her and Betty gave her own life protecting Camilla from a oncoming truck. Among a score of other pets, her other most beloved pets were a cat, Harry, who was just cool, Cheyenne, shepherd/chow and her last constant companion Dottie, a Chihuahua.
She was truly a Cam of all trades. Sales: insurance, mortgage broker, Bakery, Automotive technology, and security and could back up truck with a 40 foot flatbed trailer with precision and outrageous speed. Her proudest accomplishment was achievement of her "red, white and blue" Peace Officer certification while working as an officer at Houston Community College.
Camilla was preceded in death by her parents, Rolland Thomas Wooten and Virginia Wise Wooten. She is survived by her loving partner of 38 years, Robin Reasbeck, brother Buddy (Thomas) Wooten, his wife, Terrie; her nephew Russell, his wife, Brittany; her nephew and godson, Rolland; Great nieces Riley and Lakyn, Great nephew, Ryder; Mason family members: Bryan, Kerrie, Devon, Ayden, Jade and Tessa. Reasbeck family: Timm, Cindy, Gary, Brian, Heather, children - Chloe, Aurora, Skylar and Echo; and a host of loving extended family and innumerable close friends.
