Obituary for Robert Lester Hearn

Robert Lester Hearn
Our beloved father, husband, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle, Robert Lester Hearn left this earth on January 10, 2018, to join his Heavenly Father. He is survived by his wife Dorothy of 74 years. They were high school sweethearts at Jeff Davis High School. They enjoyed a long life full of travel and fishing in the Gulf while enjoying their beach house that Robert built in the early 70's. Robert also enjoyed his many trips to his hunting lease, which he and his hunting buddies called "Deer Camp". Robert served as captain in the U.S. Army in the Signal Corp during WWII. During his service he received the Bronze Star and was stationed in Italy, France, and Africa. He had a long and successful career as a supervisor for 42 years with Southwestern Bell Telephone Company which is now AT&T.

Robert leaves behind a daughter and her husband, Suzanne Hearn Kircher and Richard Kircher, and a son and his wife, Robert Lester Hearn, Jr. and Margo Hearn. Robert and Dorothy were blessed with five grandchildren: Sharidan Smith Lippold and husband Ryan, Matthew Smith and wife Meghan, John Hearn and wife Karen, Will Hearn and wife Jenna, and Meredith Hearn Brubaker and husband Austin. In addition, there are nine great-grandchildren who have brought them much joy. He is also survived by his older sister, Margaret Wilson.

Robert spent his final years at Parkway Place. His family would like to thank the many people who lovingly cared for him while he was there. They would also like to thank Karen Solis, Robert and Dorothy's companion who cared for them for the past five years. Her love and devotion to them is greatly appreciated.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer Association at 6055 South Loop East, Houston, TX 77087.
