Obituary for Ludwig O. Zoch

Ludwig O.  Zoch
Ludwig Zoch was born at Northrup, Lee County Texas on February 21, 1924. He departed this life on November 10, 2017 at age 93. He was a devoted husband, father, brother and servant to many during The Great Depression of the 1930’s. He joined the CCC to help build state parks in Texas and Arizona. He served in the U.S. Army 96th Infantry Division during WWII. His main tour of duty was the Invasion of Okinawa where he was wounded and awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star medals. After returning from the war he attended the University of Houston and was a fanatical fan of UH sports. He was employed by WECO Valves – FMC Technologies from many years until his retirement. He was preceded in death by his wife Harriett Ann (Scott) Zoch, his parents Gotthilf M. and Clara A. Zoch, sister Alma (Zoch) Lehman and brothers Robert, Walter, Rudi, Edwin and Otto Zoch. He is survived by his daughter Melanie Zoch, sisters Thelma (Zoch) Schatte and Ruth (Zoch) Walther and brothers Paul and Monroe Zoch. A visitation will be held Saturday, November 18 from 9-11am in the Woodlawn Funeral Home Staterooms. A graveside service will immediately follow at 11am in the Woodlawn Garden of Memories Cemetery.
