Francis “John” Avelino Rubeiro, 75, passed away October 18th in Houston, Texas. Born January 25, 1942, in Carver, Massachusetts to Avelino and Dorothy Rubeiro.
John graduated from St. Emma Military Academy in Powhatan, Virginia in 1960. He qualified as a rifleman due to his marksmanship.
John was a certified Master Scuba diver
John loved his family dearly and was active in his community of Second Victorian Village. John had an active career of over 30 years as an EMT driver in New York, and later in Environmental Remediation and Construction. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. His hobbies included international travel, watching movies with his wife, and scuba diving in which he attained a Master Scuba Diver cerification.
John is survived by his wife of 46 years, Elizabeth; 3 daughters, Maria, Patricia and Michelle; a son Michael; son-in-law Michael Lee; sister, Mary; 9 nieces and nephews; 13 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; 14 grandnieces and grandnephews; 1 great grandniece and 1 great grandnephew, plus a host of loving, extended family members.
A video tribute of his life is planned for Wednesday, October 25, 2017, from 4pm to 5pm at the Woodlawn Funeral Home Chapel. The service begins at 5pm. A reception will follow at Maggiano’s at the South Post location.
