Betty Jean McDonald, 88, went to be with her Lord Monday morning, September 18, 2017 in Houston, Texas. Born November 8, 1928 in Shelby County, Texas to parents, Asa and Becky Fleming, Betty will be forever remembered as a caring, Christian lady who dearly loved her family.
She is survived by her loving husband of 70 years, Howard, whom she married on her birthday. Daughters, Brenda Barta and her husband, Richard, and Belinda Warren and her husband, Wayne. Grandchildren, Kristi Warren, Ryan Prasek and wife Julie, Travis Warren and wife Ranie, Nicole Burkhalter and husband, Nick; great grandchildren, Trent Prasek, Tanner Prasek, Emma Warren, Abigail Warren, Matthew Warren, Millie Warren, Braden Burkhalter, and the newest addition, Bree Burkhalter.
Mrs. McDonald and her husband, Howard were instrumental in building the Southside Baptist Church in Carthage, Texas where they faithfully attended for over 33 years. They both were active in programs that helped many-namely Homebound and the Prison Ministries. A devout Christian, she loved her family and cherished the time she got to spend with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Betty loved her garden and beautiful flowers and was known for her amazing cooking expertise. She will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.
Pallbearers for the service include: Wayne Warren, Travis Warren, Richard Barta, Ryan Prasek , Trent Prasek, Tanner Prasek.
Reverend Jerry Mayfield from Spring Woods Baptist Church will deliver the service.
