Obituary for Mrs. Willien Matzke Plackemeier

Mrs. Willien Matzke  Plackemeier
Willien Martha Plackemeier, born on December 15, 1925 in Addicks, Texas, went home to be with her Lord Jesus Christ on August 31, 2017. She was a lifelong member of the Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod and member of St. Mark Lutheran Church, where she was a Sunday School Teacher and involved in youth activities for many years.

Willien will be remembered for her devotion to her loving husband Harry for 67 years, Mother, Grandmommie, Gracious and Kind Friend, admired and respected by all who knew her, always striving to live her life in an exemplary and Christian manner.

She loved raising beautiful plants and flowers along with her bromeliad garden; additionally she worked as a volunteer at the Spring Branch Medical Center for over 44 years.

Willien was active in the Afton Village Women's Club and she loved to entertain her friends and family at her home and was known for her exceptional cooking and baking. She was also an active member of the Rotary Anns of the Rotary Club of Harrisburg Women of Rotary.

She was preceded in death by her husband Harry F. Plackemeier, her parents Willie G. Matzke and Ida Matzke Hildebrandt, brother Herbert Matzke and sister Ineeda Domaschk. She is survived by her loving son, Ronald F. Plackemeier, daughter-in-law Gayle; grandchildren, Russell and wife Karen, Alyssa and husband Ryan along with their son Bridger, Robert and Jennifer and many nieces and nephews, and her beloved dog Cuddles.

Her kind spirit and gentle heart will always be remembered. She will never know how truly loved and missed she will be by all. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am - 11:00 am with funeral services to follow at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 1515 Hillendahl, Houston, Texas 77055, on Thursday September 7, 2017. Interment will be at Woodlawn Garden of Memories, immediately following Services.

Pallbearers will be Russell Plackemeier, Robert Plackemeier, Chuck Falkenhagen, David Klammer, Kurt Ladwig, Tommy Baker, Ryan Litwin, Javier Flores, Jake Dean and Jim Yarbrough.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to St. Mark Lutheran Church "Keep the Promise Campaign," 1515 Hillendahl, Houston, Texas 77055.
