Obituary for Olivia Rhoades

Olivia "Libby" Rhoades was called home by her Lord and Savior on August 22, 2017. Born September 4, 1928 in Nacogdoches, Texas. Libby earned her Registered Nurse's License from Herman Hospital in Houston, returning to Baytown to work for all three hospitals for a decade. Libby then worked in Industrial Nursing for Nabisco for nineteen years where she met and married Thomas L Rhoades (preceded in death). They retired together to Wimberley, Texas where they were very active in their church, "Chapel In The Hills". Upon Tom's death Libby returned to Houston, rejoining First United Methodist Westchase as an active member until her passing. Libby volunteered tirelessly thirteen years as President of the Board for The Terrace Condominiums Owners Association. In that time she raised the property's savings and created a beautiful and safe environment for all that resided there. Libby was an angel sent by God to enrich and bless all that came in contact with her. She was born for this role and fulfilled it well, never fully realizing the impact she had on those lucky enough to call her friend, wife, or mother. She will be lovingly remembered and sorely missed. Funeral arrangements are for Friday September 2, 2017 at Noon at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 1101 Antoine Dr, Houston TX 77055 Graveside to follow.
