Elizabeth Weldon Scherer, 87, passed away August 21, 2017 at Methodist St. Catherine’s Hospital. Born in Iola, Texas she is the daughter of Lurline McClelland and Thomas Jefferson Long, both of whom preceded her in death. With a keen business acumen, Elizabeth served as CFO and Co-Owner of A & J Plumbing.
Three of her greatest passions were travel, football and the smiles of her grandchildren.
She is survived by her sisters Peggy Reeves and Tommie Lejeune, Sons Butch and Buddy Scherer, Daughter-in-laws Theresa and Tricia Scherer, Grandchildren Taylor and Eva Scherer,
Heather Williams, Jessica Weinberger, Chris and Josh Hammond and 5 Great Grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by husbands Alton Scherer, Barney Weldon, Roland Baker and sons Ronnie, Patrick, Michael Baker.
A visitation is planned for Friday, September 8, 2017 from 4-8 pm at the Woodlawn Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Saturday, September 9, 2017 beginning at 10 am, also at Woodlawn.
