VENICE HOLMES ROUSE (Genny), 87, passed away June 30, 2017. Born December 15, 1929 to Leo and Daisy Marie Holmes in Oilton, Oklahoma. She moved to Houston, Texas at the age of 2. Genny graduated from Reagan High School in 1947 where she participated as one of the Reagan Redcoats. She met the love of her life, Billy I. Rouse, on a blind date, and the two celebrated marriage for 62 years.
Genny was a member of Terrace United Methodist Church. After relocating to Conroe, Genny & Bill became members of West Conroe Baptist Church. She was a devoted wife, mother and hard-working woman, who loved her family deeply. Genny worked for over 30 years as purchasing agent for General Welding Works. She also enjoyed gardening, and boating with Bill. She was known for an innate sense of comfort to all.
Genny is preceded in death, and has been reunited with her parents; husband, Bill; sister, Neldene Jackson; son, Richard Leo Rouse, and many others loved so dearly. Genny is survived by her children, Victoria (Vicki) Lynn Rouse-Webb and Gwyndene (Dena) Rouse-Hunt; grandchildren, Alicia (Devlin Cole), Vanessa (Scott Tobis), Justin, Rachel (Michael Lee), Rosalie (Jordan Cunningham), and Alexandria Webb; 10 great-grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends Saturday, July 8, 2017 from 4:30pm to 5pm with a celebration of life immediately following at 5pm in the chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Robertson of Calvary West Houston Church officiating. Interment to follow at Woodlawn Garden of Memories. Please feel free to dress comfortable and casual.
